Lumbar Spine

The lumbar spine is the lower back, made up of five vertebrae (L1–L5). It's the largest part of the spine, and it supports most of the body's weight. 

Structure 

• The lumbar spine is located below the thoracic spine and above the sacrum

• The lumbar vertebrae are larger, thicker, and block-like than other vertebrae

• The lumbar spine has a slight inward curve called a lordotic curve

• The lumbar spine contains discs, muscles, ligaments, and blood vessels
