Minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS) uses the same principles as arthroscopic surgery, but with slightly different surgical instruments. Instead of using the arthroscope with the images broadcast on a screen, MISS uses fluoroscopy, a type of real-time X-ray imaging that guides the surgeon to the treatment area.
